Yoko Ono Installation - City of London Festival

14th June 2006

The 2006 City of London Festival, runing from 26 June to 13 July, is this year turning to Tokyo in its continuing theme of 'Trading Places' -- celebrating the links between London and trading cities around the world.

A recent series of works created by Yoko Ono -- Morning Beams, Wish Tree and River Bed -- which use elements from the natural world to enable the viewer to interact with her artwork, will be sited in the North Transept of St Paul's Cathedral, appropriately adjacent to Holman Hunt's Lights of the World where they create a environment of meditative reflection.

Morning Beams is a dramatic installation using rope to create the illusion of beams of light from a natural light source. The beams reach the floor where they shine onto River Bed, a 'river of life' made from pebbles.

Ordinary Cathedral admission prices apply.
