Penny Lane at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
13th August 2005
A new sci-fi musical musical comedy play, Penny Lane, will hit the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on Monday. It features space ranger Penny Lane's battles against evil aliens, space pirates and diabolical villains as they plot to destroy the universe -- all to a soundtrack of 30 classic songs by The Beatles.
The play is being hosted at James Gillespie's High School and runs for six days (15th-20th August) at 14.30 with an additional matinee performance on Saturday 20th.
The play is performed by Garforth-based Inspirational Theatre Company and was rescued from near-abandonment by Leeds Metropolitan University when long promised funding fell through.
