Joe Brown and Marty Wilde, Together Again, Dartford
16th September 2005
Went to see Joe Brown and Marty Wilde at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford for the first night of their Together Again tour.
As the programme notes: "as two unique British icons Joe and Marty's popularity has spanned four decades, between them they cover rock, country, gospel and ballad and both artists are instantly recognisable and loved by fans across the board."
Tonight Joe was with his Bruvvers (Neil Gauntlett, Phil Capaldi and Dave "Rico"Nilo) and Marty had the support of his Wildcats (Neville Marten, Roger Newell, Eddie Allen, Bryan Fitzpatrick and John Dutton), at times singing and playing with their own bands, at times joining in with each others, at times coming together to form a great "supergroup".
Every time I see Joe play I come away so musically inspired. Marty was a much more showy performer, with a rockier selection of tunes. I'm writing this with many weeks retrospect and will hopefully be going to see them again before the end of the tour, so will leave a more informative blogging until then! For now, have some pictures.
